Singapore will give as much support to disabled athletes as abled ones, in their pursuit of sporting excellence, said Acting Minister for Culture, Community & Youth Lawrence Wong.He was at the official send-off ceremony on Thursday for Team Singapore's contingent to the 3rd Asian Youth Para Games.

It takes place in Kuala Lumpur from Saturday. Nine athletes are representing Singapore in four sports - Boccia, athletics, swimming and badminton.

In the previous edition four years ago, Singapore, represented by eight athletes, returned with two medals.

Mr Wong said: "We are giving you all our support, in fact in MCCY and Sports Council and SDSC, we believe that sport has no boundaries and all of you are living proof and living testimony of that.
