`SEX CITY’ SCORES SPECTACULAR OWN GOAL

Dongguan is the world’s biggest sex capital, famed for its prostitutes and the saying, “A good husband would never step foot in the place” – which makes the appearance of three shemales from Thailand to promote the city as a tourist attraction a natural fit.

The only odd thing about the powerfully-built trannies walking the Guangdong province’s streets, is that the city has been trying to clean up.

Not the hookers of course, just its image.

For instance, a Discovery Channel advert has been appearing in capital city and Guangzhou cinemas, and on trains, which features the usual lion dances, Chinese opera and basketball.

In a South China Morning post article, Professor Fan Hong, of Tsinghua University, claimed Dongguan’s racy reputation was the result of bad communication, ” outsiders’ views of Dongguan are rather incomplete and prejudicial.”

Well, surely transvestites parading their wares is a spectacular own goal?
