Kindergarten girls in just bikinis, modeling at an auto show in China, have caused an uproar.
At the 2012 Chutian Auto Culture Festival held in Wuhan, Hubei province, four- and five-year-old tots thrust out their chests and buttocks like adults in scantly clad bathing suits to attract the attention of punters.
Mission accomplished, in one sense.
However, major criticism of the organizers followed and they were accused online of “cruelly injuring the Motherland’s future flowers.”
Some pointed fingers at the girls’ parents, accusing them of making quick money and indulging in vanity.
The mother of one of the model girls felt wronged, however, saying her daughter has attended a number of modeling competitions and catwalking helps kids develop an outgoing personality and boosts confidence.
“Children wearing bikinis is not banned by the government,” she stressed.
Another mom, though, burst into tears, saying she did not think about the issue of getting her girl to pose at an auto show like adult models.
Now that she realizes what she’s done, “I really wanna slap myself to death.”
