Two people have been arrested for their suspected involvement in separate cases of pickpocketing at Lucky Plaza.
In a media release on Monday (Sep 5), police said in the first case, they were alerted to two cases of theft reported at Lucky Plaza on Sunday. Police then arrested a 36-year-old male suspect at Lucky Plaza, and recovered items such as wallets and EZ-link cards from him.
In the second case, two other victims reported to the police that their wallets were stolen from them while they were at Lucky Plaza on Sunday as well. Police arrested a 37-year-old female suspect at Woodlands Checkpoint on the same day.
Both suspects are believed to be involved in several other cases of pickpocketing, police said.
They will be charged in court on Tuesday. If convicted, they face up to three years' jail, a fine, or both.
