Two charged after wrecking Teochew porridge stall

Two of three people arrested for wrecking a porridge stall along Upper Serangoon Road were charged in a district court on Wednesday (31 May).

Singaporean Pang Pei Pei, 40, was charged with committing mischief by throwing bowls, tables and chairs into Heng Long Teochew porridge stall located at 1006 Upper Serangoon Road at about 3.45am last Saturday.

Another Singaporean Tan Sung Meng, 46, who had also committed the same actions as Pang, was charged with committing a rash act which endangered the safety of others.

The stall suffered some S$5,000 in damages as a result of their action.

In a news release on Tuesday, the police said that both Pang and Tan as well as third person were arrested on May 29 and 30. The third person has yet to be charged in court.

If convicted, Pang faces a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both.

For Tan, if found guilty, he could be jailed up to six months or fined up to S$2,500 or both.
