A tipper truck overturned along Upper Thomson Road on Tuesday (Sep 6), resulting in heavy traffic, authorities said.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to a road traffic incident at the junction between Upper Thomson Road and Jalan Leban at 4.19am. It dispatched one ambulance to the location but no one was taken to hospital.
In a Facebook post at 7.11am, the Singapore Police Force advised motorists to use alternative routes, as there was heavy traffic along the road due to the accident.
Lanes were closed at the cross junction of Upper Thomson Road and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, towards Sembawang Road, and a road closure at the cross junction of Upper Thomson Road and Jalan Leban due to the overturned tipper truck and oil spillage, added the police.
At about 9am, SPF updated that all lanes had been reopened.
The Land Transport Authority also tweeted at 7.50am that the accident on Upper Thomson Road after Yio Chu Kang Road had resulted in congestion until the Seletar Expressway.
