An accident involving a wild boar on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) caused a massive traffic jam Thursday evening (Apr 21).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at 8.30pm. Its ambulance conveyed one person to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Mr Tan, who called the Mediacorp hotline said the incident took place along the SLE towards Woodlands, and before Upper Thomson Road. He saw a wild boar lying motionless on one lane of the expressway and a motorcycle on another lane, he said. He saw people helping a motorcyclist up and added that he saw blood near the boar’s nose.

The Animal Concerns Research and Education Society said the boar had been moved to the side of the road when a representative arrived at the scene at 9.45pm. A spokesperson said the National Environment Agency had been called to remove the carcass.
