If you earn more than S$10,000 a month, and work in events management or analysis, you've most likely gained weight since starting work. These were some of the findings of a JobsCentral survey among more than 3,500 Singapore workers on weight gain in the workplace.
It found that three in five Singapore workers gained weight since starting work.
They put on an average of 3kg each year for eight years.
The majority of these people came from events management and analysis-related jobs.
People who earned at least S$10,000 a month were also more likely to gain weight.
The military or uniform groups and legal sector had lowest percentage of weight gainers. But the weight gainers piled on an average total of 19kg.
More women reported gaining weight, but male weight gainers put on more pounds.
The top reason for the weight gain was not having enough time to exercise.
Other reasons included too much sitting and eating more due to stress.
