The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be rolling out a three-month pilot programme, where they will be testing out new signages in MRT stations to ease the travels of train commuters, especially during train disruptions.

Slated to start next month, the pilot testing will be at two stations - with signs at both City Hall MRT station and Chinatown MRT station - chosen for their high human traffic flow.

'To allow commuters to quickly resume their journey during a disruption, LTA and the public transport operators will be putting up more signs at MRT stations,' said Mr Ken Chong, an LTA spokesman.

The first type of sign will be permanent information boards which tell commuters about existing bus services which go to other MRT stations, designated according to the different MRT lines. These will be placed at all MRT exits.
