Two men aged 31 and 33 have been arrested for the alleged robbery of a 62-year-old man in Hougang.
In a news release issued on Friday (Sep 2), the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said the victim reported on Tuesday that an unknown man had robbed him of his belongings, which included cash amounting to S$10,000, a handphone and a gold chain.
After conducting follow-up investigation, officers from the Ang Mo Kio division established the identities of the two suspects and arrested them at about 4.30pm on Thursday at Block 115 Bedok North Road.
Around S$8,000 worth of cash was seized from the men.
SPF said the men will be charged in court on Saturday with robbery. If convicted, they may be jailed at least three years and given no less than 12 strokes of the cane.
