Several Chinese passengers fought aboard a Sichuan Airlines plane departing from Saipan, the US, to Shanghai on September 7.
They were quarreling about reclining chairs. Some said they were arguing about getting drinks.
Although flight attendants tried to stop the brawl, airline security employees had to intervene.
This was the second mid-air quarrels involving Chinese in a week.
On September 2, two Chinese passengers fought over their chairs aboard a Swiss International Air Lines plane, forcing the plane to return to Zurich, six hours after its departure.
The two passengers were released the next day, and one of them was given a 90-day fine.
