A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 31-year-old man at Compassvale Walk, the police said on Wednesday (Aug 24).
Police said they received a call at about 9pm on Tuesday regarding an assault case at Blk 240 Compassvale Walk. Following investigations by officers from Ang Mo Kio Division, police established the identity of the suspect.
The suspect was detained at Woodlands Checkpoint by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officers just under three hours later and placed under arrest.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means. If convicted, he faces a jail term up to seven years, caning, and a fine.
