A short while ago X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney arrived back in Liverpool to play his homecoming gig.
We were rather surprised to see a vast number of people waiting to meet him and hear him sing but we were also delighted to finally see what the people voting for him actually looked like.
Speaking about the occasion Chris said: “I can’t believe I’m back home. It feels amazing. This is where it all started – I first auditioned for The X Factor in Liverpool and now I’m back here in the final three.
“I just feel so humbled and I’m so glad to be back on Liverpool soil. I’m quite nervous about performing at the Empire but the tickets sold out within 10-minutes.
“It’s nice just to give something back to the people of Liverpool and the people who have been supporting me along the way.
“Gary’s going to be there as well, it will be brilliant.”
We’re sure Gary is just as delighted.
Meanwhile X Factor rejects Union J have warned that if Maloney wins it may ruin the show’s reputation.
JJ said: "I don't think it would do amazingly well for the show if Chris won. But then again, it is the public vote, so they're keeping him in,"
He continued: "I don't think Chris would be a bad winner, but this year's been a massive year for talent, incredible, and, not saying he's not credible, but I think there's been a difference this year to other years.
"A lot of years the show gets people saying it's a karaoke competition, it's just people singing covers.
"I think the Ellas and the Jameses have really made this show. It's about the music this year and I think it would be a shame if James didn't nail it or if Jahmene, because of his voice, doesn't smash it."
Well, Chris may not have a fan in the lads from Union J but he has the people of Liverpool behind him, so chin up, eh?
