Stephen Chow (周星驰) has been sued by his ex-girlfriend Yu Man-fung (于文凤) for failing to pay commissions of HK$70 million ($9 million) from his housing investments.
Stephen broke up with the heiress of a Hong Kong construction empire in 2010, following a 13-year-long marathon romance.
Man-fung continued to provide the film producer with her business consultantancy services.
Aside from paying consultantancy fees through his company of up to HK$59,000 per month to Man-fung’s firm, Stephen promised verbally that she would be rewarded with 10% of the after-tax profits of his investments.
Man-fung claims a luxury condominium Stephen bought in Hong Kong with her assistance and social networking skills is now worth HK$800 million, which means she deserves HK$80 million as commission.
After paying her HK$10 million in March this year, Stephen denied he owes her any further commission and made out the sum was actually a gift.
Stephen refused to comment on Tuesday.
