Stanley Ho’s 4th Wife Just Revealed That The Late Casino King’s Rumoured 17th Child Really Does Exist
Remember when it was reported that the late Stanley Ho actually had 16 children instead of the widely believed 17? Well, turns out that the Macau casino magnate’s mysterious 17th kid really does exist, although his name isn’t “Ho Yau Kai” as previously thought.
A few days ago, an announcement about Stanley’s upcoming funeral was published in the papers, and this time, the names of his children include a new addition that wasn’t in his obituary: a “Ho Yau Bong”, who is listed as his fourth son. This confirms long-time reports that Stanley really did have six boys all along.
Soon after that, Stanley’s fourth wife Angela Leong released a statement to the media confirming Yau Bong’s existence and revealing more details about her eldest son for the very first time.
She explained that while Yau Bong was never a secret among the Ho clan, they refrained from releasing any information about him due to “health reasons”. She added that Yau Bong was loved and cared for like all of the other children, and that they often travelled and celebrated birthdays together with him.
His name will also be engraved on Stanley’s tombstone in line with traditional customs (so we guess the news would have come out sooner or later).
“I am worried that the untrue rumours will have a negative emotional impact on Yau Bong,” wrote Angela. “It’s difficult to lead an ordinary life when you are part of this family, but as a mother, I still hope that under our protection, he will be able to experience the safety and kindness of the outside world.”
While Angela did not reveal Yau Bong’s age, he is estimated to be around 28 years old. This is based on the position of his name in the latest obituary, which lists Stanley’s sons and daughters in the order of their ages. Yau Bong is placed between 29-year-old Orlando Ho, whose mum is Stanley's third wife Ina Chan, and 27-year-old Arnaldo Ho. The elusive Yau Bong's sister, 29-year-old Sabrina Ho, has also confirmed that he is younger than her.
According to HK01, Yau Bong reportedly suffered from a serious illness in his childhood and developed emotional problems. This led Stanley and Angela to send him to Australia for treatment, but when that didn’t work out, he went to America instead, where he has lived since then, away from the spotlight (until now, at least).
Angela as well as Yau Bong’s siblings — Sabrina, Arnaldo, Mario Ho, and Alice Ho — are said to visit him in the States from time to time, and Stanley used to make arrangements for Yau Bong to return to Hongkong as well. However, it is believed that he will not be attending his father’s funeral in order to protect his privacy.
