Singapore songstress Kit Chan, who is well-known for her hit ballads 'Heartache', 'Liking You' and National Day theme song 'Home', married her boyfriend of 13 years, Han, at a local private club The Pines last Saturday.
The good news was confirmed by Kit's assistant who clarified that it was "not a shotgun wedding". She also shared that both Kit and her boyfriend felt that it was "time to settle down now".
The 40-year-old local songbird, who is known for being a "very private person", declined to be interviewed and preferred to express her thanks to everyone in a low profile manner instead.
The wedding celebration was an intimate and low-key affair with no conventional ceremonies. Kit wore an elegant champagne coloured gown and the lovebirds invited around 100 wedding guests including family and close friends such as hairstylist David Gan, makeup artists Andy Lee and Alvin Goh.
Local musician Jimmy Ye shared the couple's joy and performed a number of Kit's songs for the wedding guests. Taiwanese singer Pan Mei Chen's brother, Pan Xie Qing was also one the wedding guests that night.
Kit and Han, 47, met on a plane and began dating in 2000. She admired Han, who is currently working in the financial industry, for his mature character.
