The actress celebrated her daughter's first birthday yesterday and hopes to have a second child.
Taiwanese actress Kelly Lin celebrated the first birthday of her daughter Kaitlin yesterday, holding a private birthday party in Taiwan which included the ‘zhuazhou' or traditional Chinese gift-picking ceremony. Kelly wed her businessman boyfriend Chris Young last year and Kaitlin was born shortly after; the two have settled down in Shanghai.
Kelly decided to fly back and host the party in Taiwan in order to celebrate her joy with close family and friends. Kaitlin was the star of the evening and was decked out in a princess-like dress specially designed for her by god-mother Tina Craig, a prominent fashion designer based in the US.
Kelly shared, '(I) hope to keep this dress until she grows up and pass it on to (Kaitlin's) daughter as a family heirloom." She added that she and Chris are intending to gift a one-carat diamond to their daughter every year until she turns 18, where they will make a necklace out of the diamonds and treat it as another family heirloom.
During the cake-cutting ceremony, Chris carried his daughter while making a wish, quipping, 'In future, you have to tell daddy when you have a boyfriend and bring daddy along when you go on dates!"
The highlight of the night was the traditional ‘zhuazhou' ceremony; Kaitlin picked up the calculator at once and proceeded to grasp a Chanel compact as well. Her parents joked that she would 'earn and spend money well".
Watching their firstborn grow up, the happy couple have expressed that they wish for a second child. Kelly has shared her preference for girls and joked that if she had a son, she would send him to the army or Shaolin temple.
