Taiwanese actor Blue Lan made an appearance at a charity event recently, where he updated everyone on his family life.
The actor tied the knot with his wife, Taiwanese actress Jade Chou in 2014, and welcomed their first child, a daughter nicknamed ‘Little Basketball’ in 2015, and their second child, a son nicknamed 'Blue Junior’ in 2016.
Since then, Jade has put her career on hold to care for their children full-time. Blue has also taken on less acting projects, choosing to focus on his family. During an interview at the event, the 39-year-old shared that he plans to return to acting soon, with a new project lined up for him next year.
When asked if Jade will be making her showbiz comeback as well, he revealed that she has devoted all her time to the family and although she really wishes to return to acting, she can’t bear to part with their children. Blue laughed that sometimes, Jade treats their kids as if they were her entire world, and that he does feel “a little left out” occasionally.
“It's a beautiful picture though,” he laughed, referring to Jade’s love for their brood.
Having been married for four years, the couple has grown used to each other, and split the household chores accordingly. Blue is in charge of the meals and cleaning, while Jade cares for their kids.
“I think marriage requires the mindset that you can’t bear a grudge over why the other party seems to be ignoring your words. After removing these thoughts and getting rid of the (mental) wall, everything will be smooth-sailing,” he shared.
Blue also revealed that Jade does not wish to have a third child, and that he respects her wishes.
He also shared that the family is starting to teach their 3-year-old daughter about self-defense, after he saw a news item regarding child molestation. However, Blue will not restrict his daughter from dating after she turns 18, as he believes that it is more important to communicate well with their children to know what they’re up to.
