Back then, Hilary who was not working; was not married to Eason yet, but the duo was living together and he would give her some money on a monthly basis. She claimed, "He was my boyfriend and half a husband."
At that point of time, Eason had reached the peak of his career and had little time for Hilary, resulting in them spending insufficient time together. She expressed, "2003 to 2004 was the most problematic year - (we) thought of ending our relationship."
After giving Eason the cold shoulder for a few months, her friends advised her against breaking up with him. She explained, "Breaking up is a big deal which must be considered thoroughly; it's not child's play."
Hilary revealed that during that dark period, they slept in separate rooms with one of them sleeping in the living room while the other slept in the bedroom. Their relationship was finally salvaged with their friends' help.
Explaining that she is now happy, Hilary added, "It's really difficult to find a good man who understands (me) and gives me freedom."
