Ever since the news about Taiwanese heir Li Zongrui's alleged serial drug-rapes surfaced earlier this month, names of those said to be involved in the scandal have been surfacing. However, some celebrities have fallen prey to netizen's pranks as their faces have been edited onto the leaked material.
After a 13-second video and 16 photographs were leaked yesterday, netizens quickly edited actress Kelly Lin's face onto some of the photos, sparking rumours that she was involved with the disgraced heir.
Kelly, who is married, swiftly condemned the photos, saying, "Crazy - you can tell that it's edited with one look", further adding that she has not ruled out taking legal action against those who had slandered her name.
Taiwanese model Amber An, who also fell prey to the malicious editing, expressed through her company that the photos were indeed fake. She also updated her micro-blog with her original photo that was edited onto the compromising pictures, saying sarcastically, "(There's) definitely no editing done!"
Zongrui's ex-girlfriend, Maggie Wu, was also said to be in the photos and the heir is believed to be hiding out at Maggie's place now -- after sightings of Zongrui were reported at the apartment under Maggie's name. Her manager has expressed that it was a case of mistaken identity and plans to pursue legal action against baseless accusations.
His current girlfriend, advertisement model Joyce, has come media scrutiny in hopes of locating Zongrui. Her manager shared, "The two have not been in contact after the situation (drug-rape scandal)."
The police currently have put up a NT$200,000 (S$8400) reward for information on his whereabouts amidst rumours that Zongrui has already escaped the country.
