With both holding two hit songs of 2013, Crayon Pop and Ylvis will be performing together at the 2013 MAMA.
On November 13, a press conference was held for the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards at the CJ E&M Center located in Sangam-dong. The conference was attended by CJ E&M’s section chief, Shin Hyung Kwan and the convention business team leader, Kim Hyung Soo, and Mnet team leader, Ahn So Yeon.
“The thing we’re focusing on this year is collaboration stages,” said Ahn So Yeon.
In previous years of MAMA, there have been collaborations between B.O.B and Seo In Young in 2012, Snoop Dogg and 2NE1 in 2011, and many other stages with Korean and overseas artists, making the performances of 2013 MAMA highly anticipated.
Ahn So Yeon continued, “The one collaboration performance we can reveal is between Youtube star Ylvis and Korea’s Crayon Pop. We’re preparing a stage that has never been seen before.”
Crayon Pop received much attention with the release of Bar Bar Bar and its addictive chorus and jumping movements, as well as its comical music video. The same could be said for Ylvis, who made its came with The Fox, which includes hilarious animal noises and made Ylvis a Youtube sensation overnight.
Meanwhile, the theme of 2013 MAMA is a imaginary that makes dreams come true through the energy of music.
The ceremony will take place on November 22 at the Hong Kong Asia Expo Arena, which can hold 10,000 people.
