The actor thanked his fans for their concern and shared that he is on the road to recovery.
Hong Kong actor Cheung Tat-ming was spotted looking shockingly gaunt after almost four months of absence earlier this week. He updated his micro-blog yesterday with a lengthy post that answered questions about his health and shared two photographs to assure fans that he is doing well.
In his post, the 48-year-old publicly thanked everyone for their concern and confirmed rumours that he contracted cancer. He went on to share that he is currently recovering well after going through intense therapy.
He revealed that he suffered from metal poisoning as a side-effect from chemotherapy which adversely affecting his nerves and mobility, causing numbness in his limbs. He reassured fans that platinum levels in his body have halved after undergoing a month of detox, partially restoring his health.
In the face of sickness, Tat-ming has remained optimistic, living by his principles of being resilient, patient and at peace. He also takes note of his health and diet, not paying heed to how others view him.
He rounded off his post on a high note, promising 'I will be back! Soon!' and attached a photo of himself holding a board saying '˜I'm doing well (and) still handsome!'
